A custom wall bed install isn't just our work. It depends on a network of suppliers and partners — each one a real business with a real interest in the outcome. The list below is the full disclosure: who they are, what they provide, whether we pay or get paid, and whether we receive any referral or kickback. Spoiler: we don't take referral fees.
1. Component suppliers
Materials and hardware in every install. Disclosed in full at /materials-provenance.html; summarized here.
- SBLM (USA) — wall bed mechanism. We are their sole HK distributor. Standard reseller margin; we are paid by you, not by SBLM.
- Egger (Austria) / Kronospan (Germany) — engineered panels (E0 grade). Bought direct from regional distributor. No marketing co-op, no kickback.
- Blum (Austria) — soft-close hinges + drawer runners. Standard authorized-dealer arrangement. We do not earn volume rebates that could bias what we install.
- Hilti (Liechtenstein) — M10 wall anchors. Bought from local HK Hilti centre at retail wholesale.
- Rehau / Proadec — edge banding · Philips / Megaman — optional LED. Standard component buys.
2. Fitter network (our install team + backup partners)
Most installs are done by our in-house team. Two backup partner teams exist for capacity overflow and the shutdown plan referenced in /trust.html.
- WALLBED KING in-house install team — covered by our public liability policy and ECI. Default for every install.
- 2 backup HK fitter teams — under a written referral arrangement specifically for SBLM-mechanism work. Activated if (a) we have schedule overflow, or (b) the company shuts down — see trust scorecard "if we ever shut down" section. We don't currently disclose their company names because they hold their own customer lists; we disclose the existence of the arrangement, the SBLM-spec qualification, and the trigger conditions.
3. Renovation contractors (we refer out, no fees)
Top-tier "Full Flat Renovation" jobs require demolition, electrical, plumbing, finishes — outside our scope. We refer to a small set of HK general contractors we trust. We don't take referral fees from any of them.
- 3 vetted HK renovation contractors — chosen for our customers based on flat size, district, and budget tier. The vetting criteria are: licensed contractor registration, public liability insurance, willingness to coordinate with our wall bed install date, written quote with itemised line items.
- Why we don't take referral fees: a referral fee creates an incentive to send the customer to whichever contractor pays best, not whichever fits best. We refuse the fee. If a contractor offers, we tell the customer so they know.
- Why we don't publish their names: two of them have asked not to be named publicly because their book is full and they don't want inbound from non-WALLBED-customers. The third we'd publish but it would be misleading without the other two.
4. Fellow HK wall bed sellers (we refer to when we say no)
When we refuse a job (see /jobs-we-refused.html), we sometimes refer the customer to a competitor whose product is a better fit. No referral fee in either direction.
- Floor-mounted Murphy bed sellers — for non-structural-wall installs. Different load model, lower price point, fits buyers we can't serve.
- Smaller-format wall bed sellers — for buildings where panel transport is the constraint and we'd have to break panels into pieces (which we refuse on safety grounds).
- Ready-made furniture retailers — for buyers who need post-handback return rights we can't offer on custom installs.
- Why we don't publish their names: they'd appreciate the courtesy referrals, but listing them by name would make this page look like a paid promotion. The names are given verbally on the relevant referral occasion.
5. Service providers — neutral disclosure
For completeness, here are the third-party services our website and operations use. None of them have access to your contract, your photos, or your data unless explicitly listed in /privacy.html.
- Surge.sh — static site host for this domain (wallbedking-hk.surge.sh).
- HSBC — operating bank account where deposits are held (segregated weekly; recoverable in a wind-down per trust scorecard).
- WhatsApp Business — primary customer communication channel.
- Google Fonts CDN, Tailwind CDN — page rendering. No customer data passed.
- No advertising trackers, no Meta Pixel active yet, no Google Analytics active yet — placeholder slots are wired into the chat-widget JS but no tracking IDs are deployed at time of writing. When we activate them, this page is updated.
