WALLBED KING 窩居·家
Wall bed broken? · We can help.

Bought cheap, and now regret it?

If your Taobao or imported wall bed is sagging, squeaking, refusing to lock, or has just stopped folding — you're not the first. We see this every month.

No judgment. We'll come and tell you honestly what can be fixed, what can be salvaged, and what's safer to replace. Sometimes the answer saves you HKD 30,000 — and sometimes it's HKD 800.

The 4 most common failures we see

What's happening to your bed

Recognize the symptom? Below is what's likely going on inside the wall, and what your two paths usually look like.

📉

Bed drops too fast on the way down

Spring tension lost. Common on cable-and-spring mechanisms after 18–36 months in HK humidity.

Likely path A: spring/cable replacement, HKD 1,800–3,500. Buys you another 12–18 months.
Likely path B: upgrade to SBLM mechanism, HKD 11,400 + cabinet keep-fit. Permanent fix.
🔒

Bed won't lock in the up position

Latch mechanism worn or misaligned. Sometimes a simple shim fix; sometimes a sign the frame has shifted.

Likely path A: latch realign + lubricate, HKD 500–1,200. Same-day fix.
Likely path B: if frame has shifted — full re-anchor + re-bolt, HKD 4,500–8,000.
🔊

Loud creaking / squeaking

Usually metal-on-metal where a sealed bearing should be. Cheap mechanisms run on exposed pivots that grind over time.

Likely path A: silicone-grade lubrication + check, HKD 600. Takes 30 min.
Likely path B: if pivots are scored — mechanism swap. From HKD 11,400.

Cracks in the wall around the anchors

The most serious symptom. The wall is failing — usually because the original installer didn't verify rebar or used drywall anchors. Stop sleeping in it tonight.

Likely path: structural re-anchor with steel reinforcement plate, HKD 4,500–12,000. Sometimes a full re-install on a different wall.

The honest decision

"Should I repair, or just replace?"

No upsell. We score every salvage candidate on these 5 questions. If 3 or more are "no", we tell you to replace. If 4 or more are "yes", we'll repair.

1Is the cabinet structurally sound (no warping, no rot)?
2Is the wall behind it taking the load safely (no cracks, proper anchors)?
3Are spare parts for this mechanism still available from the maker?
4Does the repair cost less than 35% of a new install?
5Will the repaired bed give you another 5+ years of safe use?
Our promise: we will run this scorecard on the spot, in front of you, and give you the honest answer. Even if it costs us a sale.
